Snowman Cake Pops

Snowman Cake Pops -
I made these snowmen pops last year and just never had time to view them. I think they are pretty darn cute. The black confetti flakes are perfect for two eyes made of coal. The noses are sunflower seeds oranges. The mouths are drawn with a ballpoint edible black ink.

The hats are made from regular Oreos and mini size.

cookies make it even more impressive do not you think.
you want to do some? Follow the basic instructions for cake pops, and use the following items to decorate
white melted candy
black confetti sprinkles
orange sunflower seeds
black edible ink pen
regular Oreos
miniature Oreos
Toothpicks
Styrofoam block
  • Prepare the hats first. Oreos separate and remove the cream center. Miniature Oreos can get a lot of crumbs stuck to the side of cream center to take a toothpick and scrape off the surface of a white board.
  • Use some of the molten coating to attach the miniature Oreo half the regular size of Oreo and set aside.
  • Dip the cake pops and while the coating is still wet, attach the nose of sunflower seeds and Oreo hat and let dry.
  • Then attach the confetti sprinkle eyes sprinkling a small amount of coating with a toothpick and attach sequins.
  • Draw the mouth with edible ink pen and let dry up in a styrofoam block.
... and voila ... snowman cake pops or cake Snowhead Pops ... Nevermind.
now are rather cute as I said ... they remind me of what a snowman look like if I tried to build in the yard. Not that we ever really had a lot of snow here. They are more like ice men snowmen in the south. But this weekend I thought about them and I decided they were just a bit too generic.
So I decided to try something a bit more iconic.
ready. These really are cute.

stop. I can hardly believe that they are real and I made them.

The hats were made by tinting white candy coating with black candy color to a dark gray. Then, the coating was poured into the candy molds.

Now if you want a floppy hat like those in the back of this picture, then try to soak it in Reese gray color of candy.

Unpack first ... but you knew that. And make sure the coating has cooled or it will melt the candy before attaching them to the base of the hat.
You want to do some of them? They are more involved, but you can do it. I know you can because many of you have been sending me some fantastic pictures of snowmen.
