Curious George Cake Pops

Curious George Cake Pops -
Curious George Cake Pops
I was monkeying around this weekend and is the sweetest little cake pops in partnership with Hulu to share with you guys. I work with them to help celebrate the nine seasons of Curious George are now streaming exclusively on Hulu and of course I had to explore how my favorite mischievous monkey would look as cake pop.
Okay ... Who is curious to know how George and make people smile.
Making Cake Balls
First, we need to mix a bit of cake and icing and roll the mixture into balls. You can reference my cake pop basic instructions here for the full how-to, then follow below to make mini monkeys.
Shaping Faces
Once you have all your balls deployed, begin to shape the heads. Use a paper lollipop stick to make indentations on the front of the face, then roll along the sides and the surface to help smooth out.
After forming, cool until firm balls.
Butterscotch Morsels
have some caramel or peanut pieces on hand butter, because they will be our ears.
Moon and Star Sprinkles
Well, first, let me say ... I really wanted to try to get George's hair curling like his cartoon. That said, you can skip this step and just use a toothpick to swirl in small loops melted chocolate on top of his head at the end of the decoration.
But, if you're up for it ... This is Moon and stars and moons Sprinkles made perfectly proportioned hair. Let's see.
Adding Hair
Dip the ends of the three moon noodles (one at a time) in melted chocolate candy coating and attach to the top and side of the head George. You can help secure by adding a little more coating around the base where they are attached. Just smooth on the surface of pop. Place shaped balls in the refrigerator to cool again before diving.
Insert a lollipop stick into the ball shape and carefully dip the whole pop in the chocolate candy coating. Remove and gently tap off any excess. Before the coating sets, joining two pieces of caramel or peanut butter on the side of the head with the funds forward to the ears. Allow to dry completely.
Monkey Cake Pops
Voila ... Now we're ready to fill those empty faces.
Dipping George
For the fronts of faces, you can use peanut butter or caramel candy slices. If you can not find these flavors, then you can also make your chocolate candy lighter coating mixture in the white candy coating. Here, I put a little peanut butter flavored candy coating in a small container and plunged the front of the mouth of George area in it. Remove and apply more coating her eye area with a toothpick. Gently use the toothpick to force the coating you want. You can also place the melted candy coating in a small squeeze bottle and the pipe quickly to the front.
Curious George Faces
Once dry, shoot a nose using a hardened toothpick into melted candy coating and fix the eyes.
Confetti Sprinkles
eyes are white sprinkles of confetti.
When completely dry, draw on eyes, ears and a grin with a black pen of edible ink writing. To finish, the points on the eyes with molten coating of white candy.
Curious George Cake Pops
Super cute.
Curious George Balloons
But I think we need some balls.
Balloon Pops
dip cake pops round in red, yellow and blue candy coating and let dry. Then use a toothpick to apply the coating around the base of the stick for the node.
Curious George Cake Pops
Now he's gone and I think Curious George agrees.
Enjoy!
