Candy Corn Pops and spider cake -
Can I interest you in some candy corn? Not my favorite candy to eat, but for Halloween there's nothing more iconic. So I thought it was time I transformed them into cake pops.
cute cake pops that their most popular treatment for Halloween do.
By the way ... caramel candy corn ... It rocks. Try it.
Make your cake balls following the basic instructions here, then hand shape shaped candy corn. Use a piece of wax paper to drag the edges through more defined edges smooth.
This is really quite easy to decorate as all decorative add ons are added after the cake pops are soaked.
There is a little less work than when the add ons must be attached while the coating is still wet. These, for example, you can soak a day and then decorate another.
You can soak these a couple of ways to get a tri-color effect.
You can soak in one color, let dry, then the next and let dry, then the last. But when you do it this way, pop gets three layers of coating on the last color when finished. There may be a little thick and can also distort a little design.
So ... I made these with a little more effort.
First I start with orange ... the color I want for the community. And I dive all shaped cake ball in the orange coat and let dry. Then I dip the top in white coating. Insert at an angle to obtain the coating to the curve at the edges. Or insert directly if you want your straight sections.
Now how do yellow as they are on sticks?
Very easy and I do this often depending on the design.
gently turn the stick of pop. Then dip the bottom in the yellow coating. Dip the end of your stick in the coating and insert the key back into the cake pop and let dry.
In this way, the coating is only two layers thick in places. Much better for the beneficiaries, I think.
And now they are ready to decorate.
candy eyes! These little guys have big faces and can remove large eyes. (Found at Hobby Lobby)
See. So cute with big happy expressions.
Simply attach the eye with a coating of melted candy point. Then do the same with black jimmies for eyebrows and purple sprinkles confetti for cheeks.
Then draw a big sweet smile with an edible ink black pen (I use AmeriColor pens) or pipe with melted candy coating.
And there you have it. Candy corn cake pops.
But not all. Use your eyes again. On some spiders this time.
Oooooh. And we will tint the dough green cake just for fun.

then press your lollipop stick on the coating while it is still wet.
you can use a toothpick to pull through the cover for more advanced purposes.
And when the paintings are dry, you can also use it to help shape wonky edges. Gently rub the side of the toothpick against the bumps in the coating to help smooth out. And you can also use your fingertips.
Now use to soak your cake pops.
... or what I recommend you to be safer, is dip and decorate your first cake pops, then gently turn the sticks and use those in place of webs spiders welt.
once dry, just dip the ends in a little coating remains and insert back into the cake pops.
If you do, you will have the cute little robots watching you.
To decorate spiders, plunge into the color of candy coating of your choice and while the coating is still wet gently insert licorice pieces cut to the legs. Let dry and you can attach candy eyes with a molten coating. The fangs are just miniature hearts of confetti. After they are attached, you can direct a smile to cover the upper part of the heart.
Darling, spiders hang.
