Flower Power -

I did. I'm really excited. I wanted to learn to make sugar cookies decorated house since I this site. But I have been putting off because they really intimidated me. The whole of the dough home. (Regarding sugar cookies go, I grew up doing the kind Pillsbury refrigerated. You know what I mean.) Not to mention, I do not have a rolling pin. That is true. Me. No rolling pin. Never owned one. Then there is the whole issue of royal icing in two consistencies and ensure that it does not dry out. He always comes too seemed. Then I came across the book, Cookie Craft . And, wow, everything seemed just possible. My dreams of smooth sugar-coated biscuits could be realized. So I bought the book and then I went to a few stores in Williams-Sonoma and bought my own rolling pin ... a silicone ... look how pretty she is. (Yes, I probably overpaid, but I was in the moment and had to have one.)

now I do not really have a lot of punches, so I use this set of Ateco cutters Daisy I had on hand to do most of my testing. Thought they would be a great way to practice flowers.

So far, so good. Guess it would not be so difficult after all.

Now switch several color bowls cherry, squeeze bottles, sugar crystals, and toothpicks covering my kitchen table and ta-dah ... beautiful sweet flowers.

I'm really excited about how they came out. Not too bad for my first go at it. Especially since I have a really hard time piping. Now you all bakers veterans biscuits, cut me some slack here. I know I can improve a lot on the look of them, but, oh, how much fun it will be to perform better and better. Think of all the poor cookies I must sacrifice as test subjects. Yay !!!

I also made a few teddy bears with this lot. They are so cute. I think I'm in love with them.

And, after all that work, that's what makes it so useful.

Thank Cookie Craft , for giving me the courage to go. I love it when things work as you expect. And your recipe and directions were perfect. I guess it's true, you never know what you're capable of until you try.

Now for the good news. I loved this book so much, I went and bought another one for you.
