Trix your treats! -
Last month, the more fun people at General Mills invited several bloggers to create something sweet and scary for Halloween using some their grain and possibly be selected to appear on bettycrocker.com. (Hmmm ... cool!) And only after returning home from a visit to the headquarters of General Mills and Betty Crocker Test Kitchens, I was super excited to play the game.
I was all, "safe" and "no problem."
They sent us a box of cereal to experiment and find inspiration.
I just wish it was as easy as the first rang.
I started overwhelmed by some serious decisions cereal.
Which? More than one? Bake with them? Decorate with them? I had a lot of ideas, but not many of those Halloween.
After days of watching cereal, I decided to go with Trix.
Mainly because I'm attracted to the color. But you probably guessed that on me now. I separated from each color in a plastic bag. My first thought was to somehow Monsters. Fun monsters. friendly monsters. colorful monsters. I tried a few things and they turned out as monsters not looking so hot. Okay, they were ugly. And not in a good kind of way monsterly.
Thus, in a last-ditch effort, I caught a cookie mix bag I had in the pantry (Betty ... pretty convenient ), ran to the store to get a box of chocolate and vanilla icing (keeping with the theme) and decided to use the Trix cereal flashes orange and green for simple spider body.
biscuits super cute chocolate finish with a burst of fruity Trix. And color punch on the paintings of spiders graphics surpassed.
If you do not want to use cereal or cookie mix, then simply use the following as a guide for decorating. All cookies or candy colored round can be a source of inspiration for something fun.
Here's how to do them.
