The truffles ...
The box ... all cake!
do not believe me? Well read on and I'll show you how to make this cake Sweet Heart little.
you can use the other cake and trim excess to crumble and make red velvet cake balls .
Read the original how to Red velvet cake balls.
(Keep in mind that this recipe has used the entire cake for cake balls, so you want to reduce the amount of frosting that you use to run them. Start small and add more as you need until the consistency is wet enough to mold and still hold its shape.)
I just decorated these different ways with candy writers, heart vermicelli, nuts and candy sprinkled background. You can take a step further by actually making it an assorted box of chocolates. Go all out and make the cake balls with different flavors of cakes.

do not believe me? Well read on and I'll show you how to make this cake Sweet Heart little.
- First, you need to grease and flour at least one mold heart-shaped cake. I used one which is about 8 "wide and used a round cake pan for the rest of the dough.
- Now mix your ingredients and pour into molds. (The recipe red velvet cake, I used made a cake that was really too fat, so I will not post. But you can just as easily use any cake recipe or cake mix for this.)
- Bake cakes and cool.
- When cool, take a pencil and trace the shape of your cake on waxed paper.
- after 'have described your cake, draw a second draft about .25 inches around the outside of the first heart-shaped. You can eyeball.
- Back to your cake or cupcakes and level by cutting tops with a long serrated knife.
- Keep excess. You can use it later.
- Well, now you'll need some red fondant. You can tint fondant red or you take the easy route and buy already colored. (It's a real pain to red tint fondant and get the color you want, so I'm buying this stuff at any time I can help.)
- work on a clean, dry and sprinkle some cornstarch before starting to work with fondant. If you do not, it will start to stick to the surface. Working with just the amount you need and keep the rest wrapped tightly with plastic wrap. It dries quickly.
- Now, use a rolling pin and roll fondant and run flat. You will need to roll higher than your heart-shaped model.
- With scissors, cut the wax paper along the outer edge of the shape of your heart to make the model. Then, gently hold the template in place on your fondant and use a toothpick to trace the shape of heart.
- Remove the wax paper and carefully cut out the shape with a knife. Use toothpicks marks as a guide.
- This piece of fondant will be the bottom of your cake box. Lay it on a flat surface, cake board or a cake. I used a round cake board and a few mats to place the fondant on. Now use some of your frosting to coat a layer on the inside of the shape of your heart melting.
- Place the cake on the basis and center. Icing helps keep up.
- Now, the top and smooth the gel.
- Back to your model wax paper and cut out the heart shape inside. Use this new model for the top of the cake box. Roll and cut another piece of fondant to use to cut the heart to the top of the cake the same way you did for the bottom.
- Place the heart-shaped building on top of the cake so that it is centered with the lower layer of icing. Frost the sides carefully. Make it as smooth as possible. Use a paper towel and gently remove any excess glaze that can get to the bottom edge or top of the cake.
- Now roll on a long strip of fondant.
- Using a straight edge, cut the sides so that you have a very long piece of fondant. You want the width of this piece is at least .25 "wider than the height of your cake to form the sides of the box to hold the truffles.
- carefully, wrap the sides of the cake with this band fluxes. again, the frosting will help keep the fondant in place. the smoother your icing is, the smoother the sides of your box will be. And voila ... Sweet Heart candy Cake box!
