I'm sure most of you have heard of the Nintendo Wii now. But before Christmas rolled around, I had never even seen the Wii and had no desire to play. (Not a big video gamer.) I had heard all about it though. How you can create characters (Miis) to look like you and play games like bowling and golf and tennis ... all with a remote control. You've seen the ads, with everyone in the search stupid in front of their TV, punching invisible objects. (This is the boxing game, by the way.)
So, for Christmas my sister had one, my best friend got one and my aunt won her a Christmas party. Everywhere I went, I'm surrounded by cartoon versions of my friends and family bowling and playing tennis. Suddenly, I had to have one. So a few days and five stores later, I also am the proud owner of a shiny white box of fun.
And it's fun! The New Year's Eve, we blown away for nearly eight hours. We could not stop. I'm sure there are a bunch of you know exactly what I mean. And for the record, my niece rocks bowling. It has a high score of 254 and is only seven. I ... well ... I'm not seven, but I can not fight for the life of me. (She likes to remind me, too.)
