... hippity hoppity, Easter on its way. Last night I made two little rabbit cakes and when I woke up, I find all these baby rabbits itty-bitty hopping around my kitchen. You do the math.
Innocent-looking, are not they ...
Cupcakes I use a recipe for Yellow Rose Berenbaum Downy butter cake of his book, the Cake Bible , which by the way is a fantastic resource. Many recipes, tips and explanations. However, I still have a few lessons from the "chemistry of cake" to get mine out exactly as it is supposed
Icing :. Basic Buttercream (from an earlier post)
Decorations: Fondant ear. I used some rabbit strawberry biscuits shaping fondant yesterday. I cut the bunny face (see photo below) to make it easy to stick in the ears cupcakes. Then I left them on the counter to dry so they stand. For curved ears, I placed in the bottom of a shallow bowl so that they form to this form while they dried. You can even extend over a drink or something round like that. Also, I needed something for whiskers, so I came across these somen noodles Japanese who worked very good. And then, just m & ms and different sprinkles for faces. Bunny Fun!
