I did some egg cake pops!
They are really cute ... but they are not for Easter.
Instead, I made happy little Humpty Dumpty Pops cake for a baby shower that my friend Julie Cupcake threw this weekend. It was entirely Humpty theme Eggstravaganza. And when I get photos all together, I'll show you some of the fun elements it has created for her. If you remember this post Christmas Candyland his party decorations, you can probably guess that it does not retain the details.
But first up ... here's a how-to Humpty.
Follow the instructions for basic cake Pops and roll in the forms of eggs instead of bullets.
Try using a piece of wax paper to help shape the balls into the eggs.
Roll the egg-shapes against the wax paper and it will help smooth the sides.
When all are fit, relax until firm.
Then it's time to soak. Soak. Soak. Dip.
Make sure you have enough melted candy coating in the bowl to soak completely and remove the cake pop without having to stir the coating to cover.
Eggcellent! ... And a blank canvas to decorate Humpty.
Or if you want to pop for Easter, you can totally do that, too. Take a look at this post for some easy Easter Egg Cake Pops.
Humpty actually dipped twice. Once the white coating is dry, gently untwist the stick of the lollipop cake pop and dip the bottom of the egg shape in a second color of melted candy coating.
Just hold the egg shape and dip the bottom half in the coating. Remove, shake off excess and place the return lollipop stick in the bottom of the egg.
To help Humpty dress, fix its collar. Use a toothpick dipped in melted white candy coating and draw a shape around the blue collar lining. Do one side at a time and sprinkle with white sanding sugar on top. Then use the side of a clean toothpick to help straighten the edges while the coating is still wet.
Dot on the white candy coating to the nose with the end of a toothpick and draw happy faces on soft with an ink pen edible black.
Finish decorating her outfit with a little glitter to dress him. Humpty needs festive clothing you know.

I used the same candy ice cream cone I used to rabbit cake pops last week. This time I use kitchen shears to cut a portion of the round end. This makes it easier for the cone to sit on top of the cake pop. Attach it to pop with a melted candy coating and then draw on more coating around the base and sprinkle with sanding sugar to cover the gaps where the two meet.
ice cream cone Candy are not super common. You can find them here, go without hats or find another cone or hat-shaped candy substitute. Just be creative and have fun.
Enjoy!
Hopefully their pleased to smile faces.
And I can not wait until you see Humpty Dumpty decorations baby shower thrown Julie. They are pretty freaking amazing! ... Soon.
P.S. anyone have the song Humpty Hump dance in their heads right now. I do and I think it's stuck there.
