Easter Basket Cake Pops

Easter Basket Cake Pops -

Easter Basket Cake Pops

Look what the Easter Bunny had earlier ... mouthfuls baskets filled with candy and cakes, too.

Rips Licorice Belts

I used licorice belt to the basket handles. Just cut them into strips 1/4 inch that are about 3 1/2 inches long and set aside until you are ready to decorate.

If you cut too long, they will droop at the top of the pop.

Well, now we will shape the basket bases.

Baskets

Follow the directions for cake pops base and shape the cake mix and frosting in the bottom basket. Take a look at this article on how I shape the rolls, but basically I drive a first balls, then shape by hand as much as possible. When the basket shape begins to form, you can drag it to a wax paper covered surface to achieve distinct edges.

Once you have the shape, use a toothpick to make two indentations on top of the base. This is to help the handles have a place a little deeper to insert for stability.

Dip the cake pops in melted chocolate coating, then insert the handles before the coating sets. This is probably the trickiest part of making these pops.

But it is the rest of the decor is the most fun.

First, draw an outline around the top of the basket with a toothpick dipped in melted candy wafers. Then sprinkle sanding white sugar before the coating sets. Use a clean toothpick to straighten all lines.

You can also use an alternating slice candy color here to jazz them more. I am simple, on the bases, so the Easter eggs and grass stand.

Sweetarts Jelly Beans

The eggs are SWEETARTS jelly beans. I like these because the colors are so vibrant.

Easter Eggs

Dip the ends of the "eggs" in melted slices of green candies and set in the center, on top of the cart and let dry.

Green Candy Shred

now, for the grass. I love this Candy Green Shred my product line with Make'n Mold.

It is quite perfect for Easter grass, but you can also use shredded coconut dyed in pastel colors for thick grass.

Making Baskets

With a toothpick dipped in the coating, apply more melted slices of green candies on top of the cart, around the eggs and between the handles. Then gently press the green shred in the coating and let dry.

That's it!

Now I have to resist making too recent. I thought the baskets may need something else, but maybe if the borders were alternating colors that would be enough for me.

Meanwhile, I put a bow on it ... with some arcs remains of recent weeks rabbit cookie pops

Bow Update :. We went into the kitchen after finishing this post and bows on the handles are not a good idea. They will make the handles droop their weight. Instead of trying to attach them to the front of the basket if you wish to add. :)

Too cute. Enjoy !!!
