Burgers and Bees

Burgers and Bees -
Bzzzzzzzz. The first bees. I did this some time. They were some of my first attempts to turn cake pops in small creatures. From them, I saw other variations shared by people who are damn cute, too. Some with small wings using jumbo vermicelli white heart that I think are just darling. I'll try to post some of them in the section Pop Stars in the future. But until then, I hope these spark some ideas for you.
Bee Cake Pops
Follow the instructions to make cake pops base, balls shaped in ovals and use the following items to decorate.
You will need:
melted yellow candy
white melted candy
black candy writers
Black pen with edible ink
jimmies chocolate
Lollipop sticks
Styrofoam block
bees
You can prepare wings in advance . Use a round cookie cutter to cut a small section of each white melted candy. You want the curve is similar in shape to the side of the cake pop so you can reach it without much space.
Dip the pops in the yellow coating. Once dry, use a sweet black writer pipe tape, then dip the wings, cut side down in a little yellow coating remaining. Then carefully attached to the cake pop, holding the flanges in place until the coating sets. Place in a Styrofoam block to dry.
This step would have been easier if I had thought of these heart vermicelli jumbo at the time instead of melting. Moreover, it makes the bees seem a little cuddlier ... if bees can look cuddly.
When the pops are dry, draw on cute little faces with a pen with edible black ink.
Now for the burgers.
Are you ready?
Burger Bites
Burger Bites, baby!
Candy Melts
To decorate these you just need
candy melted dark chocolate
The butter melted peanut candy
melting candy red
green background candy
nonpareils white
And a little patience. dipping These are obtained by applying the coating in several steps and allowed to dry in between.
cake Follow the basic instructions after ball and roll them into balls, flatten slightly so they are not too round.
Then start dipping.

completely covered in dark chocolate first. You can break any pool when they are dry or use a toothpick to draw a dividing line around the base of the ball while the coating is still wet, then it will break much easier.
IMG_3009
once dry, soak about 1/3 of the ball in the red candy coating, place red side and let dry.

Then soak the opposite side about 1/3 of the way into the green candy coating. Place the green side and let dry.
You will be left with dark chocolate still visible in the middle.
You can use a toothpick to dip into any remaining green coating and apply ectra right on the edges so it will look a bit more random. More lettuce-like.

When the green is dry, dip the peanut butter to coat bottom. Be sure to leave some of the visible red. This time, you can hand them out to dry bottom side down and the coating will be dry with over a flat surface to the bottom of the bun. If the coating is too hot, let take a few minutes before diving in order not to over pool.
Burger Cake Bites
Finally dip the tops for a part of the show for lettuce and sprinkle with nonpareils. Many soaking and drying, but damn cute.
Let dry completely and you can have dinner and dessert all in one bite.

FYI ... originally they were going to be in the book Cake Pop, but now ... they are not. Bzzzzzzzzz kill. I know. It was hard not to include ... really hard. But ultimately it came down to the number of pages. I had to stick to a certain number of pages and there was no place for some of the projects. I decided to take the burgers because you are essentially put three layers of coating on the cake balls and I thought maybe too thick for the taste of most people. And the bees ... I do not really know. I guess I thought they were not quite cuddly. Now I'm having doubts. I do it a lot. Too bad, but ... it's too late.
Anyway, hope you like them.
