Mix things up!

Mix things up! -
Cookie Stack
yeehaaa ... yum yum ... it's Cowboy Cookies. Or, in this case, Cowgirl Cookies.
A friend introduced these for me and I love them. Especially the name. Cowboy Cookies. Cowboy Cookies. Cowboy Cookies. Rolls off the tongue right? Well, I took the oatmeal, traditional chocolate chips and pecans that cookie is known for and added some pink m & m of doing, well, more girly.
Cookie Ingredients
But why stop there. I also did some mixing biscuits to try as a test for a gift idea. You see, I missed said the birthday of a friend (sorry friend) and I wanted to do for her. So I took the basic recipe and made some adjustments so I can answer all the ingredients in these jars.
Cowgirl Cookies
They are smooth ball pots made especially for handicrafts. Smooooooth. logos in the glass No. embossed. Pleasant. And with a bit of cloth, labels and a brown suede bow, they are perfect little gifts.
Four Jars
Who should I give her? It is important in fact, because I was doing four different variations. If you see in the picture above, some of them have more oats, flour or sugar. I wanted different combinations to get all the ingredients to adapt
Oh, and note to self: .. Use a ruler when setting the next time label
Fortunately, the first batch of test I actually worked. Yes!
So here is the recipe:
Cowgirl Cookies
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, gathered in a measuring cup and leveled
powder 1 teaspoon bicarbonate
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
3/4 cup m & ms
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 - 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl
Cowgirl Cookies
Add
1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 cup butter (slightly melted in the microwave)
1 teaspoon vanilla coffee
Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Use the back of a large spoon to work together. You may even need to use your hands to get everything built.
Unbanked cookies
Then roll the cookie dough into 1 1/2 inch balls, place on a sheet and bake in oven parchment covered for about 10 minutes in a preheated 350 degrees. I got about 26-28 cookies on these.
This is how they came out.
Cowgirl Cookies
Pretty and tasty. But I still want to try other mixtures later, and if it tastes better, I'll make sure and update the recipe. Besides, I want to know how long they last in jars. Ideas?
You want to make cute gifts mix cookies, too? That is how.
Cookie Labela
Start with a smooth ball of 1 liter pot. I found them at Hobby Lobby store craft
layer the ingredients in like this :.
First: flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Second: oats
Third: m & ms
Fourth: chocolate chip
Fifth: brown sugar
sixth white sugar
seventh chopped pecans
pack of each low really well. I'm serious. Pack it. Or it will not all fit. Also, I added the chopped pecans last, because if the ingredients were too much or not enough, then I can add more or less to adjust pecans. I prefer to sacrifice nuts chocolate, you know. Ingredients must be flush with the top of the cover when the seal upward.
Suede Bow
See. There are some pecans peeking under the fabric.
To decorate the top of the pots, get a suede cord reel and fabric. I really wanted to find a fabric bandana west rose, but this will do.
Anyway, the fabric cut into 6-inch squares and suede 25 inch pieces. Place the fabric on top and tie ribbons around the lid to hold it in place.
Labeling
For labels, you will need some cardboard, a paper punch and double sided tape.
you can use the pink tags that I did if you want. DOWNLOAD PDF HERE.
Cookie Jar Labels
I also included one for cooking instructions and a label for Cowboy Cookies brown if you want to donate these boys or girls.
Cowboy Cookies
Note: you can change the color of m & ms and give them as gifts for Halloween, or Christmas presents, too. Visit m & ms seasonal in the candy aisle. They are usually available in special holiday colors or themes. Those roses were in the bag awareness to breast cancer. Also another great gift idea.
Enjoy!
