Sweet Talk Cookie Signs

Sweet Talk Cookie Signs -
Sugar Cookie Signs
I bought a little lightbox sign the other day that inspired these sweet message board cookies.

Look how cute. And I play with different sayings to put on display in the kitchen, so I thought it would be fun to say things with sugar, too.
Cookie Cutting
I used this super sugar cookie recipe and two rectangular cookie cutters to make signs.
large section is 2 x 3 inches and breakfast is 1 x 1.5 inches.
Sugar Cookies
Once the cookies are baked and cooled, roll the fondant and vanilla you can use the same cookie cutters to cover the trays.
When the deployment of fluxes, keep your roller and the working surface covered lightly with powdered sugar or corn starch so that the flux can be easily lifted and transferred.
Spread a thin layer of frosting on your cookies then place the fondant in place. gently press and smooth without recesses in the flux.
Making Cookie Signs
The sign I use a mini spatula to press indentations into the fondant to create a border. The width of the spatula is perfect for medium horizontal lines, but you can also use straight edge that works for you.
BTW, this mini spatula is one of my all-time favorite things in the kitchen. It is Pampered Chef if you want to track one down.

I also stained some light pink fondant even more cute signs.
Cookie Writing
Let the fondant dry a bit and then use an edible black ink pen to write something sweet ... or impertinent. If you write immediately, the pen can recesses in the flux.
Cookie Signs
When you finish writing your words, use the same pen with edible ink to fill the borders. Indentation with the spatula helps ensure you stay within the lines.
But wait, do not you think these signs are totally stand up?

I think so, too.
Cookie Triangles
here, I used a small tear of cutting to create triangular shapes by cutting the rounded ends.
Cookie Sign Assembly
Then I attached the triangles on the back of biscuits with melted butter candy coated peanuts. You can use other colors, but the peanut butter slices mixed with the color of good biscuit.
The sugar cookie recipe will make 24 cookies or 12 permanent signs.
