This is true.
Boo Hiss ... in the most gentle way possible.
This is Boo. Cutest dog in the world.
and the breath ... it is a fussy cat.
Yeah, so what happens when cake pops and cute animals internet celebrity collide.
adorable edible animals.
Did you Boo and grumpy cat have their own books? Boo has nearly 7.5 million Facebook fans, stuffed animals and calendars grumpy cat and even a movie deal. Crazy.
And three of us have a little something in common. We share the same publisher, Chronicle Books. I already had Boo of the book and when I found Chronicle published the book grumpy cat, too - I was unexplainably excited - as if I could stop by their office or something and being able to pet the kitty . I was thinking just now, it would be fun to surprise my friends Chronicle and to make these two cuties in cake pops and I finally had time this weekend. Hopefully they like. By the way guys, if you read ... I definitely want to be there for a playdate Boo and Grumpy Cat.
Boo is a little pomeranian with the cutest puppy cut and personality rebounding.
Grumpy Cat ( whose real name is tardar sauce ) on the other hand is not so perky with a permanent grumpy expression. Let's just say that if these two hangout together, Boo would be totally Grumpy Cat Nermal. And if you get that reference, you'll probably enjoy this and that, too.
Now ... if you have no idea who these two are, or what I want to talk, just google Boo the dog and cat grumpy for a little pop culture and you get. Adorable overload.
But even if you do not know anything about them ... they still make the neatest pops pet. Here's how I have decorated ...
Start with a crumbled cake and frosting mixed together and rolled into a ball.
You guys know how to do this now, but if not ... here is a link to the full how-to instructions for basic cake pops.
when the balls are rolled, chilled and ready to dive, you will need a candy coating.
I Melt chocolate and vanilla and yellow until I got a nuance that I loved this could work as a basis for two pops. These slices are candy Make 'n Mold and you can find them at craft stores like Hobby Lobby and A.C. Moore. Start with white as a base and add a few slices brown and then a little yellow as you melt them. Stop when the color feels right for you. I would have kept a ratio of these for you, but I did not keep track that I melted.
When the coating is fluid, soak the pops in the coating in one motion - without swirling - and press any excess
once dry, reserve a portion of the coating light brown melted candy for later use, then add a little more chocolate and yellow coating to make it darker. shadow. Dip the head of Boo approximately midway and at a slight angle and let dry.
Once dry, use a wet toothpick into the light brown coating booked and draw on the Boo muzzle. Place a miniature pink confetti sprinkle in the coating while it is still wet and let dry. Then brown dot coating more light to overlap the pinch. It will look like Boo smiled a little sticky pink tongue.
Then use a wet toothpick in the shadows darker and the point / draw on Boo's ears. Form the first form and when it dries draw on the form with more coating to make the ears seem bent forward.
Finally, a point on a dark brown liner for a small nose. Then draw the eye with a black dot and edible pen then with a white coating of grain to finish the look.
Hey Boo.
now, for a feline frown. It is time for a bad mood.
First, use some chocolate wafers and cut triangles on them to the ears using a (not serrated) knife sharp.
When you dip pops, place the ears in position while the coating is still wet.
Once dry, use a toothpick to shape and burn the faces of grumpy cat. I took a cake Poppable resemblance Grumpy Cat on paper to use as a guide.
Fix the eyes (vermicelli confetti Jumbo broken in half) in position with a little coating melted candy and then use a wet toothpick into darker liner to draw the eye shape engraved on pop. In this way, the eyes sprinkle confetti will look back with a little chocolate overlap.
Then draw between the two with a toothpick dipped in melted white coating. Overlap the brown a little and let dry.
Dot pink coating on a small nose and use part of the light brown coating on the ears. Finally, draw on eyes and a raised eyebrow kind with a ballpoint edible black ink, then the points on the eyes with a white coating.
A little trick to get sharper edges is when all is done, use a toothpick to define lines and make sharper edges. You can remove the unwanted candy coating quite easily if you are careful. You can also use the side of a toothpick to gently rub on the surface if you need to smooth an area or on the edge of ears to help make straighter edges. Fingertips can work very well.
grumpy cat may be frowned outside.
But Cat Grumpy is gentle enough inside.
Boo is also of course. I could not resist these cute little chocolate cheeks. Could you?
Here Boo Book, the book and my grumpy cat, so if you want to check.
