Wedding Cake Pops -
I received a ton of wedding cake pops requests so I thought today would be a good time to show you some. Here is a simple form of wedding cake that you can use and decorate as desired.
Read the basic instructions for making cake pops, then use the following instructions to turn them into miniature wedding cakes.
After rolling the cake balls, use two different sized cookie cutters to make shapes. You can use small knives like these to form the cake mix and frosting.
They are not too big ... the round cutter is about 1 1/2 inches wide and cut-crease is about 1 1/4 inches wide.
Tap a ball cake in each mold until the mixture fills the shape cookie cutter. Remove any excess and you can reuse.
Remove the mixture cookie cutters carefully to shape remains intact and place on a covered baking sheet with waxed paper.
When you have your forms melted white candy coating according to package instructions. Apply a thin coating layer on the bottom of the smaller cake form, leaving the uncoated center. (It will be easier for the lollipop stick insert.)
Then place the small layer on top of the wider layer coating side down. Press gently and leave the candy coating attached like glue. Place the cake in the refrigerator to keep chilled before diving.
When ready, dip the tip of each lollipop stick in the coating, then insert into the bottom of halfway cake. Then soak the wedding cake pop in a narrow bowl of melted candy coating so you can soak and remove the entire cake in one motion.
To ensure that the coating is fluid enough, you can add a little fat crystals or primary to help lighten it.
Remove the candy coating, press any excess gently and place a pinch of jumbo heart on top before the coating sets.
Leave to dry in a styrofoam block and set decorations using a melted candy coating like glue. You can use sugar crystals, sprinkles of confetti or even pipe on details such as points or tub with coating most candy. You could actually go with different decorations and colors.
These jumbo heart glitter great for working on top of cakes.
